You are the second person who see it, almost as violent , the other was a student of Michelle. I never saw it as violent , but I can see why some would see it that way, the intensity of the red does remind me of the violence of being born the blood and the physical pain. The picture is from Passage Michele and I installation, I did Photoshop it a bit . Best Jorge
This is beautiful - the different textures of her hair, the stones, the water. There is a mystery here - perhaps it is a little like a dream - is she becoming the water or is the water moving into her as she walks on the red stones
The red water video looked so wonderful with the performers. It is great to see this image of Yuki. By the way, for anyone else who reads this- the water is the Housatonic river right by Deb's studio. We videotaped it and then made the water red in the computer. You can see how we used the video in this documentation of the installation: https://vimeo.com/80580916

human and nature, merging, becoming...that she stands on earth(stone) connected to water, made of water...the shapes and colors strike me too, the black, black shape of hair, the movement and fluidity of red water and dress, grayish red stability, of little pieces of stone all connnected to eachother...beautiful image.
Very provocative image. The red color gives it a raw, almost violent feeling.
